Zelensky appoints head of counterintelligence department of SBU

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Serhiy Levchenko as head of the military counterintelligence department at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The corresponding decree has been posted on the website of the head of state.

"To appoint Serhiy Levchenko as head of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine," the document says.

As reported, the Military Counterintelligence Department at the SBU was created by the decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 13, 2020 on the basis of the relevant units of the Department of Counterintelligence of the Central Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Serhiy Levchenko headed the Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU in the Counterintelligence Department.
