Ukraine-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission unblocks range of joint projects
“Having resumed the Commission’s work today, we will unblock a number of joint economic and transport projects, modernize border and cross-border infrastructure, give a new impetus to cooperation in the agricultural sector, energy, and environmental protection,” Kuleba said.
The foreign ministers and government delegations of Ukraine and Hungary discussed cooperation projects between Ukrainian and Hungarian companies, increase in bilateral investment, strengthening of business in the markets of both countries.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the ministries and departments of the two countries, who are responsible for bilateral trade, infrastructure, transport, border crossings, energy, digitalization, agriculture and tourism.
The ministers agreed to hold a meeting of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Border Cooperation Commission as soon as possible.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, trade between Ukraine and Hungary in 2019 amounted to $2.8 billion.
The previous meeting of the Joint Ukraine-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in December 2013.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó and the Hungarian delegation were the first foreign guests since the beginning of quarantine who visited Kyiv on a working visit.
