Deputy Foreign Minister Dzheppar, CDA Kvien discuss efforts to de-occupy Crimea and Donbas

First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar and U.S. Charge d'Affaires a.i. in Ukraine Kristina Kvien discussed the strengthening of international efforts to de-occupy Crimea annexed by Russia and the temporarily occupied areas of Donbas.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation, including issues on restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, strengthening international efforts to de-occupy Crimea and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.

Dzheppar also emphasized the importance of strengthening security in the Black and Mediterranean Seas, protecting human rights, expanding cooperation in the information sector, as well as implementing the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs in Ukraine.

In turn, Kvien confirmed the full support by the U.S. Administration and Congress for the inviolability of Ukraine’s borders and democratic development.

The parties also noted the need for further coordination and expansion of USAID projects, including in the humanitarian sector.
