Government declares emergency situation regime in Kyiv city and two regions

The decision was made at a special government meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

"The Government has declared the emergency situation regime in Kyiv city, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions," he wrote.

The Head of Government added that the relevant decisions had previously been taken by the regional commissions on technogenic and environmental safety and on emergency situations in connection with the confirmation of coronavirus cases.

Shmyhal also noted that no new restrictions were planned to be imposed so far. The emergency situation regime aims to mobilize efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19.

As of 10:00 on March 21, Ukraine confirmed 41 cases of COVID-19. Fifteen new cases were detected in the last 24 hours.
