Last night, it became known after the meeting of the Servant of the People party faction that Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk had submitted a letter of resignation to the Verkhovna Rada. According to MP Dubinsky, members of the Servant of the People party faction plan to accept it. Incumbent Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Community Development and Territories Denys Shmyhal is expected to be appointed to the position of the Prime Minister.
Honcharuk was appointed as the Prime Minister on August 29, 2019. Prior to that, he headed the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO).
On October 4, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada approved the Government's Action Plan proposed by Honcharuk. According to the Law of Ukraine “On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine”, after the action plan is approved, the Parliament cannot consider the issue of Government's responsibility and dismiss it within 12 months.
