The Office of Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea assures that Crimean prisoners will be on lists for the next prisoner exchange.

"Over the last few days, there have been questions about the release of political prisoners from the occupied territory of Crimea and the Russian Federation. We can confidently say that the work on the release is ongoing. Today, the first stage announced by the President of Ukraine has taken place, and next steps will follow. Crimean prisoners will be included [in the lists for exchange] at the next stage of release," reads the Office’s statement on Facebook.

The Office of Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea also assured that no citizen of Ukraine – either Crimean Tatar or Ukrainian – had been forgotten.

As reported, on December 29, the detainee exchange between Ukraine and the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Luhansk People’s Republic” took place at the Mayorske entry-exit checkpoint in Donetsk region.

Seventy-six people returned to Ukraine. Ukraine transferred 127 detainees, being ready to transfer 141 people, but 14 of them refused to return to the militant-controlled territory.
