On Friday, the Southern Military District Court of Russia’s city of Rostov-on-Don extended the arrest of three defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case for another six months.

"On December 27, 2019, a court hearing on extension of pre-trial restriction for Rustem Emiruseyinov, Arsen Abkhayirov and Eskender Abdulhaniyev was held... [The arrest] was extended for another six months, until June 13," the Crimean Solidarity initiative posted on Facebook.

Rustem Emiruseyinov, Arsen Abkhayirov and Eskender Abdulhaniyev were detained on February 14, 2019 in Oktiabrske village of Krasnohvardiysky district in occupied Crimea. The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation claims that the Crimean Tatars, who were detained after the search, are involved in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in Russia.

After the Crimean Tatars had refused to cooperate with the investigation and plead guilty to terrorism charges, they were put in a psychiatric hospital.
