U.S. sanctions will not halt construction of Russia's Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream pipelines.

"With regard to the U.S. military budget, the Congress, in my opinion, is willing to do everything to destroy our relations... But we have got used to such attacks, we know how to respond to them, and I assure that neither Nord Stream 2, nor Turkish Stream will stop," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following his visit to Washington, D.C., TASS reports.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Congress approved $738 billion military budget for FY 2020 (started on October 1) which provides for imposition of sanctions over Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream pipelines to ensure Europe's energy security.
