EU-Ukraine Association Committee to convene on November 5

The 5th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee will be held in Brussels on November 5 and is expected to enhance the dynamics of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the European Union.

"During the events within the framework of the Committee meeting, professional contacts will be established between representatives of new Ukrainian authorities and the EU institutions, in particular the European Commission. In addition, ideas of further integration that will form the basis of the documents to be adopted by the Association Council in December will be discussed," Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba announced, the Government portal reports.

According to Kuleba, there is every reason to say that the intensity of Ukraine-EU dialogue will only increase.

Thus, the next meeting of the Association Committee will touch upon a wide range of issues related to political, economic and sectoral cooperation. A separate bloc will be dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the Association Agreement and updating the annexes to the Agreement. Other important issues of the EU-Ukraine relations agenda will also be addressed.

It is planned to summarize previous achievements on the path towards rapprochement with the EU and to deepen and expand EU integration processes at this year's Association Council in December. In particular, Ukraine expects concrete joint steps to be taken for further sectoral integration of Ukraine into the EU's digital and individual energy markets, simplification of conditions (customs formalities) in trade with the EU, in the area of justice, freedom and security, and obtaining an "industrial visa free regime" (ACAA Agreement).

The delegation to the 5th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee will be led by Acting Director General of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat Yulia Horiacha from the Ukrainian side and Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service Luc Devigne from the EU side. Dmytro Kuleba will open the meeting.

The Association Committee, established in accordance with Article 464 of the Association Agreement, is the subsidiary body of the Association Council which organizes the meetings and discussions of the Association Council, ensures the continuity of the association relations and the proper implementation of the Agreement.
