Ukraine, France discuss joint production of patrol boats

“We would like to sign an agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses. We have such agreements with a number of EU countries, including Italy and Spain. And next month we will sign [an agreement] with Great Britain, so I think that such an agreement with France will be topical,” Avakov said.

The parties also discussed the possibility of joint production of patrol boats for border guards.

"We have received a proposal from the French company OCEA for the supply of patrol boats for the State Border Service, and the joint production of such boats is also important," the interior minister said.

Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, in turn, said that the localization of production for Ukraine was important: "We hope to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on this project soon."

During the meeting, the parties also stressed the successful development of the project on supplying helicopters by the French company Airbus for the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s aviation system.
