Presidents of Ukraine and Egypt discuss investment, trade, education

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, the president’s press service has reported.

The leaders of the two countries noted the intensification of the Ukrainian-Egyptian political dialogue and outlined promising directions for the further development of bilateral cooperation.

During the conversation, they confirmed willingness to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, including the implementation of specific bilateral economic projects and promotion of the companies of the two countries in each other's markets. “We need to talk about tourism development,” Zelensky stressed.

In addition, the presidents discussed the interaction between Ukraine and Egypt in the framework of international organizations and the current issues of the international agenda.

Zelensky invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Ukraine. “No Egyptian president has ever come to Ukraine. We will be glad to welcome your delegation,” the head of state said.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the educational field and increase in the exchange of students.
