SBI questions Poroshenko about PrivatBank, events in Kerch Strait
He told this to reporters in Kyiv on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We are 100% right, the law is on our side. The nationalization was an element of protection against robbery that sucked large amounts of money out of our country, but for some reason, the SBI and other law enforcement agencies do not want to deal with that," Poroshenko said.
"In addition, today they asked questions about sailors, about the Kerch Strait. The decision of the International Tribunal [for the Law of the Sea], which recognized Ukraine's right to use the Ukrainian Kerch Strait and the Ukrainian Sea of Azov, as well as the coasts of Mariupol and Berdiansk, where the Ukrainian Navy are in charge of coastal defense, is not sufficient for them. Russia conducted an operation as a result of a routine rotation of our ships and committed aggression. That aggression was recognized by the world," he added.
The SBI is investigating 13 criminal cases involving Poroshenko. Most of them were opened at the request of Andriy Portnov, a former deputy head of the Presidential Administration under President Viktor Yanukovych.
