Freeland congratulates Prystaiko on new appointment

Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland congratulated Vadym Prystaiko on the appointment to the post of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine.

“My congratulations to Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, Vadym Prystaiko – a former ambassador to Canada on your appointment!” Freeland posted on Twitter.

The Canadian minister added that she was looking forward to continuing cooperation with Ukraine. “I look forward to working with you to strengthen the rules-based international order and build the secure and prosperous future that the people of Ukraine deserve,” Freeland wrote.

Prystaiko served as Ukraine's ambassador to Canada from 2012 to 2014, the deputy foreign minister from 2014 to 2017 and headed the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to NATO in 2017-2019.
