Polozov: Lawyers of captured Ukrainian sailors do not comment on exchange

The lawyers of captured Ukrainian sailors, who are the prisoners of war, do not comment on the situation around the possible prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia until all the facts are confirmed.

"In connection with the numerous inquiries from the media representatives, as well as the attempts of a number of people to misinform the public about the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and political prisoners, we officially announce that the lawyers of the team of Ukrainian prisoners of war do not comment on this issue in the interests of their clients," lawyer Nikolay Polozov wrote in Facebook group "Protection of Ukrainian sailors - prisoners of war."

He stressed that the lawyers "do not comment on rumors, assumptions and explicitly fake information."

"The official commentary will appear on this page when all the necessary facts are confirmed," Polozov added.

Earlier, employee of the Parliament of Ukraine Anna Isliamova posted on Facebook that Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners on the night of August 30 and captured sailors, Oleg Sentsov, Mykola Karpiuk, Volodymyr Balukh, Pavlo Hryb were flying home. Her publication was shared by newly elected Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka.

However, the Presidential Office stated that the information about the completion of the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and the Russian Federation was untrue and the process was ongoing.
