Forum on Donbas reconstruction to be held in Mariupol in September – Danylyuk

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk said this in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.

“The forum is being prepared, first of all, by the Presidential Office. The purpose of the forum is to draw attention to the development of Donbas and attract investors,” he said, adding that the event will be held in September.

The NSDC secretary also noted that in the opinion of President Zelensky, information measures were not enough to change the situation in Donbas. “It is necessary to attract investments into the region, since roads, ports, infrastructure, schools require money. We have local budget resources, central budget resources, international financial institutions, and private business. We need to understand who and what wants to receive,” Danylyuk stressed.

He also said that he had discussed with the president of the World Bank the possible participation of the Bank in development projects in Donbas.
