Poroshenko going to Strasbourg at invitation of MEPs

"The agenda for the visit includes meetings with the leadership of the factions of a new composition of the European Parliament and participation in the first meeting of the Group of Friends of European Ukraine in the European Parliament," the press service of the European Solidarity party reported.

Poroshenko will discuss with MEPs the state and prospects of relations between Ukraine and the EU based on the results of the 21st summit, the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. They will also coordinate efforts to further counter Russian aggression against Ukraine and other European countries.

Poroshenko also plans to take part in debates in the European Parliament regarding Russia's violations of human rights, democracy and the rule of law, in particular, the illegal detention of Ukrainian political prisoners and sailors.
