Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has managed to reach a number of concrete agreements during his recent visit to Canada, Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko has said.

"It is customary for diplomats to rate every visit by the 'bricks' that the delegation brings back home. The 'bricks' are concrete agreements. The first of them is that Canada has invited Ukraine to join the Trusted Travelers Programs. In simple words, it means a simplified permitting procedure for Ukrainians who want to come to Canada," Shevchenko said.

According to him, a fundamental agreement was reached between Canada and Ukraine on the extension of the free trade agreement.

"Secondly, we are expanding the free trade agreement to the sphere of services and investment. Technical talks on this issue will begin soon," the diplomat said.

Shevchenko also emphasized the importance of establishing personal contacts between the leaders of both states.

"Thirdly, human contacts between the authorities of Ukraine and Canada at this transitional stage are very valuable, because Canada is our key communicator with the West," he said.

Zelensky made an official visit to Canada from July 1 to July 3. He held more than a dozen bilateral and multilateral meetings and attended the Ukraine Reform Conference in Toronto.
