Japan provided $47 mln of assistance to Donetsk and Luhansk regions since 2014

Since 2014, the government of Japan has provided assistance totaling $47 million to Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Head of the Donetsk Civil and Military Regional Administration Oleksandr Kuts wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Since 2014, Japan has provided assistance totaling $ 47 million to Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Oleksandr Kuts cited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai as saying.

As Ukrinform reported, the government of Japan transferred two units of specialized vehicles and personal protective equipment to the utility company Water of Donbas. The relevant ceremony took place in Pokrovsk, with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine Ann-Charlotte Sylwander and Director of the UNOPS Office in Ukraine Andriy Buriakovsky.
