Luxembourg says annexation of Crimea remains threat to international security

The militarization of Russian-occupied Crimea remains a threat to the international security.

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin today, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The illegal annexation of Crimea remains a threat to the international security system, and the militarization of the peninsula is of concern to the international community,” Asselborn said.

He noted that Luxembourg, as a member of the European Union, as well as the entire EU, supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“We strongly advocate that the annexation of Crimea should be never recognized ... We stand for the release of all hostages and their return to Ukraine. We also support the position that representatives of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission should have access to the entire territory of Ukraine, including Crimea,” Asselborn summed up.
