United States supports free and fair elections in Ukraine - David Hale

The United States supports free and fair elections that reflect the will of Ukrainians, not outside powers, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale has said.

He stated this at a meeting with representatives of civil society organizations in Kyiv on March 6, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine wrote on Twitter.

“In his first engagement of the day, Under Secretary Hale met with a group of civil society organizations and highlighted the importance of citizen participation in a democratic Ukraine,” the report says.

It is noted that “David Hale emphasized U.S. support for free and fair elections that reflect the will of Ukrainians, not outside powers.”

As Ukrinform reported, on March 5, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale arrived in Kyiv on an official visit. He plans to meet with senior Ukrainian officials and political leaders to discuss the upcoming elections and anti-corruption measures.

On March 7, David Hale will hold a press conference on the results of his visit to Ukraine and the current state of relations between Ukraine and the United States.
