Ukraine's reputation depends on how elections take place - Volker

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker have discussed the risks of the election campaign in Ukraine.
Avakov wrote this on his Twitter account following a meeting with Volker in Washington.
"Ukraine's reputation will depend on how the elections take place, Volker said at a bilateral meeting during which we discussed the risks of the election campaign and the position of the Interior Ministry," Avakov wrote.
He added that he was glad that "our principles coincide: the elections must be transparent and fair."
Avakov is on a visit to the United States.
