Deshchytsia names main challenges for Ukraine-Poland relations in 2019
Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia stated this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"The undoubted priority will be to maintain good neighborly and partner relations with Poland. We face serious challenges: elections in Ukraine and Poland, and Russian aggressor that seeks to destabilize the region. Therefore, we will do everything we can to unite forces and jointly combat hybrid threats,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
He added that the Ukrainian diplomacy in Poland next year will also work on "raising the effectiveness of protection of Ukrainian citizens’ interests in the Republic of Poland and promote as much as it can the cultural needs of the Ukrainian community, restoring the memory of Ukrainians."
According to Deshchytsia, Ukraine and Poland are now actively working on organizing joint events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership initiative.
"We want to draw Europe's attention to the success of its Eastern policy, to emphasize the importance and prospects of further close interaction of the EU with the countries of initiative, in particular with Ukraine," the ambassador stated.
