Government sets up interagency working group to reform State Fiscal Service
"The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution on the creation of an interdepartmental working group on reforming the system of bodies implementing the state tax and customs policy. The staff of the working group will be approved by the finance minister of Ukraine and will not exceed 50 people," the statement reads.
The working group will include representatives of executive government agencies, international and public organizations, people's deputies of Ukraine, and experts.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved the clause on the interdepartmental working group and defined its main tasks. The working group will analyze the proposals for the reform of the state tax and customs services and will submit recommendations for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.
On December 18, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution on the restructuring of the State Fiscal Service by splitting it into the State Tax Service and the State Customs Service as separate central executive government agencies. The Cabinet of Ministers will direct and coordinate the activities of these services through the finance minister of Ukraine. The resolution takes into account the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund and the tasks identified in the government's medium-term plan of priorities until 2020.
