In January 2019, the U.S. Congress will consider the allocation of another $125 million in military aid to Ukraine.

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker made a relevant statement during the meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy, the press service of the Parliament reports.

"The U.S. Special Representative informed that the U.S. Congress would consider in January next year the allocation of another $125 million in military aid to Ukraine, the half of the assistance for the next year," the statement reads.

As noted, Volker stressed that the United States was willing to support Ukraine in its intentions to strengthen the defense at sea and coastline as well as the air defense.

According to the U.S. Special Representative, the adoption of the law on the sale of military equipment would send a message not only for taxpayers in the United States but for the European countries also.

Earlier, Volker stated that the US military aid could be delivered to Ukraine in the next few months.

The United States plans to provide Ukraine with the defensive assistance to the tune of $250 million, including $50 million for lethal weapons.
