Klimkin to head Ukrainian delegation at meeting of U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has formed a Ukrainian delegation for participation in a meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission to be held in Washington on November 16.

A respective presidential decree of November 14 has been published on the website of the head of state.

According to the document, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin was appointed head of the delegation.

The delegation also includes Deputy Energy and Coal Industry Minister for European Integration Natalia Boiko, Deputy Director of the Department of America and Chief of the U.S. and Canadian Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yaroslav Brysiuk, and Deputy Foreign Minister for European Integration Olena Zerkal.

The delegation also includes Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev (by consent), Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Director of the Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleksiy Makeyev, First Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vitaliy Malikov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Marchenko, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maksym Nefyodov; Deputy Defense Minister for European Integration Anatoliy Petrenko, Deputy Justice Minister for European Integration Serhiy Petukhov, Head of the Central Election Commission Tetiana Slipachuk (by consent), and Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly.

Klimkin said on November 12 that the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission would consider issues of political, security, legal and economic cooperation at a meeting on November 16.

The event will be co-chaired by the foreign policy chiefs of Ukraine and the United States.
