Poroshenko appoints Ukraine’s representative to International Renewable Energy Agency

President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The corresponding decree No.309/2018 has been posted on the president’s website.

“To appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA),” reads the report.

As known, the International Renewable Energy Agency was established in 2011. The agency's activities are aimed at ensuring a rapid transition to sustainable use of renewable energy sources worldwide. At present 144 states are members of IRENA, another 31 countries have applied to join the organization.
