Hungary's actions symmetrical with statements by Russian politicians - Turchynov
He said this to journalists at a joint briefing with Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Pawel Soloch on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The latest Hungarian actions are symmetrical with statements by Russian politicians. They do not benefit the unity of Europe," Turchynov said.
He noted that problems with Hungary had not arisen today. Over the past few years, Hungarian politicians have taken a lot of steps to block Ukraine's cooperation with NATO. According to Turchynov, Hungarian politicians thus improve their image.
At the same time, Turchynov noted that in the language issue to which Hungary has claims, the Ukrainian government and parliament act in accordance with the conclusions of the Venice Commission.
As reported, on September 19, Ukrinform published a video showing the issuance of Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens at the Hungarian consulate in Berehove.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said later that the Hungarian consul, who appears on the video handing over Hungarian passports to Ukrainians, should leave Ukraine.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow that Hungary would expel the Ukrainian consul in response to a note announced by Ukraine that the Hungarian consul in Berehove must leave the country within 72 hours.
