Ukraine not receives any signal from Russia regarding release of political prisoners

"We are doing everything possible for the release of political prisoners, but so far neither Ukraine nor its partners in the Normandy format have received a positive signal from the Russian Federation," First Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko told journalists.

In total, about 70 Ukrainian political prisoners, including Ukrinform journalist Roman Sushchenko and Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, are currently held in Russia and in Russian-occupied Crimea.
