He stated this during a meeting of the discussion club held at Ukrinform on September 26.
"Four years ago the EU applied sanctions against Russia for the occupation of Crimea, which is an obvious violation of international law, and for those terrible things that were the result of Russia’s aggression in Donbas. Now we support efforts to resolve the conflict within the framework of the Minsk agreements, as well as in the "Normandy format". Frankly, we have not yet achieved a significant progress in this direction. But we view the Minsk platform as the only way to dialogue at the moment," the EU representative said.
He noted that the European Union was building relations with Ukraine, based on the principles of freedom, independence and territorial integrity, and would continue to follow these principles.
