Ukraine informs IAEA member states on enhancing nuclear safety since 2014

Ukraine is informing the IAEA member states on enhancing its nuclear safety and security regime since the beginning of the Russian armed aggression in February 2014.

The Permanent Mission of Ukraine is taking part in the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Board of Governors meeting, held in Vienna on September 10-14.

According to the press service of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine, the issues to be discussed during the meeting include nuclear safety and security, verification and monitoring in Iran, application of safeguards in the DPRK, Syria and the Middle East.

This session is of particular importance for Ukraine as it will inform the IAEA Member States on the lessons learned and results achieved in the field of enhancing its nuclear safety and security regime since the beginning of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine in February 2014.

This meeting is held on the eve of the 62nd session of the IAEA General Conference (Vienna, 17-21 September). Several important issues to be discussed during the Board of Governors meeting will be transmitted for the final approval by the General Conference.
