Indonesia interested in Ukraine’s experience of UN Security Council non-permanent membership

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine Yuddy Chrisnandi stated this at a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.

“The Indonesian side expressed its readiness for fruitful cooperation with Ukraine in all spheres of mutual interest. The Indonesian side expressed its interest in the experience acquired by Ukraine during its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council in order to tackle effectively the global challenges of the international agenda,” reads the report.

The Deputy Foreign Minister congratulated Indonesia with the election as the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2019-2020 and confirmed the readiness of Ukrainian side to provide comprehensive assistance in this sphere. In particular, it was suggested to hold consultation with representatives of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations in New York.

Also, at the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed condolences on the numerous victims caused by devastating earthquake that struck Lombok Island on August 5 and transferred the letter of condolences from President of Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko to President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

In addition, the parties discussed wide range of issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as the prospects for further development of political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation.
