Parubiy closes Verkhovna Rada session until autumn

Speaker Andriy Parubiy has officially closed the eighth session of the Ukrainian parliament today, July 13, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“I declare the eighth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine closed," he stated.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Parubiy stressed that among key decisions the parliament approved over the eighth session were the laws "On High Anti-Corruption Court", "On National Security" and a number of staff decisions.

In general, according to the speaker, 88 laws were approved, as well as 49 bills at first reading, 37 resolutions and over 150 other decisions.

The next session of the Verkhovna Rada will begin on September 4 and will last until January 25, 2019.
