The United States does not recognize Russia’s attempt to annex Crimea.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said this at a daily briefing on Monday, according to Bloomberg.

"The United States does not recognize Russia’s attempt to annex Crimea. The U.S. sanctions will remain in place until Russia returns Crimea to Ukraine," Sanders told reporters at the White House.

The White House stresses that the statements made by National Security Adviser John Bolton, in which the media saw the possibility of the U.S. recognition of Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian Crimea, do not correspond to reality.
