Ukraine expects that international partners will urge to liberate territory and political prisoners at all talks with Russia

Ukraine expects from its international partners not sympathy for our political prisoners and hostages held in Russia but that they will begin any negotiations with the Russian side demanding the liberation of our territory and our hostages.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said this at a joint briefing with Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Hrytsak for the representatives of the diplomatic corps about the crimes of the Russian Federation, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Our message is not that the torture of Ukrainian political prisoners and hostages has actually become part of Russia's reality, as it was in the days of Stalin and beyond. We need from you not just sympathy for our guys. We need from you that every negotiation with Russians - whether at the political level or at the level of civil society - or any other contact that you will have in the future, start with one issue - Russia must leave Ukraine and release political prisoners and hostages," Klimkin said.
