Poroshenko goes on an official visit to Spain today

"On June 2-4, 2018, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will be on an official visit to the Kingdom of Spain. The head of the Ukrainian state will meet with King of Spain Felipe VI, newly-appointed Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Chairman of the Congress of Deputies Ana Maria Pastor and representatives of Spanish business circles," the statement reads.

During the visit, Poroshenko together with the Ukrainian community of Spain will take part in the prayer for peace in Ukraine, which will take place at Almudena Cathedral in Madrid.

The visit of the Ukrainian president is the first visit of a foreign leader since the appointment of the new Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez.

This is the first official visit of the president of Ukraine to Spain over the past 22 years.
