Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that this year the government will allocate UAH 2.6 million to improve safety on Ukrainian roads.
He stated this during a government’s meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Along with the reconstruction of roads, we’re facing a serious challenge- a large number of accidents and a large number of injuries, as well as on the roads that have already been repaired, people die in road accidents. We should increase the safety on Ukrainian roads. Previously, we had no money for it. In 2018, we will allocate UAH 2.6 billion from all sources," said Groysman.
He added that the government at today's meeting should adopt a comprehensive program on road safety improvement.
Groysman noted that according to the latest statistics in Ukraine, 11 people die in road accidents every day.
