Donbas remains my priority - Poroshenko
He said this during his working visit to Volnovakha, Donetsk region, on Sunday, April 1, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Today, during our meeting, I want to thank our people's deputies, because they supported the presidential strategy for reintegration of Donbas," Poroshenko said.
He added that MPs had "supported a political and diplomatic way when we have to stop the war and bring peace to Donbas."
On his Twitter page, the head of state also noted that "the law has again confirmed that Ukraine remains committed to peaceful settlement of the situation in the occupied Donbas, as envisaged by our international obligations."
He said that Donbas was, is and remains his priority.
"We have to show that Ukraine is living and developing. And that is why Donbas was, is, remains and will be my priority," Poroshenko said.
He added that budget funds were being spent on Donbas, particularly on the restoration of destroyed housing, infrastructure, bridges, roads, and on the construction of schools and kindergartens.
As Ukrinform reported, on January 18, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the peculiarities of state policy on ensuring Ukraine's state sovereignty over temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in which Russia is recognized as an aggressor country that carries out temporary occupation of part of Ukrainian territory.
