Alfano: All parties to Donbas conflict must fulfill their obligations
Foreign Minister of Italy and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Angelino Alfano said this to journalists in Mariupol yesterday, the press service of Mariupol City Council reported.
"For me, it is unacceptable that in Ukraine, in the heart of Europe, there is such conflict as we see in Donbas now. I believe that everyone must fulfill his obligations in order to achieve a peaceful settlement of the situation. I begin my activity as the head of the OSCE with these beliefs," Alfano stressed.
In turn, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin thanked Alfano for the fact that he started his work as the OSCE head with a visit to our country and saw the conditions in which the country lived.
As reported, the Ukrainian and Italian foreign ministers visited the Pyshchevyk checkpoint in the direction of Mariupol-Novoazovsk. Klimkin and Alfano met with representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine in Mariupol.
