Poroshenko informs OSCE chairperson about situation in Donbas

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Foreign Minister of Italy and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Angelino Alfano.

Poroshenko congratulated Italy on the beginning of the OSCE presidency and thanked for including the settlement of the situation in Donbas in the priorities of the OSCE, the press service of the Head of State reported.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the deterioration of the human rights situation in the occupied Crimea

The President informed the Italian minister about the situation in Donbas and praised the decision of Angelino Alfano to visit this region affected by the Russian aggression on January 31, 2018.

The parties discussed the priorities of the bilateral interaction. The Italian foreign minister praised the intensification of the activities of the Italian business in Ukraine as a result of the improvement of the investment climate through the holding of successful reforms.

Poroshenko thanked the Italian representative for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, particularly for co-authorship in respective UN GA resolutions and on the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
