Government intends to bring legislation on consumer rights in line with EU standards until 2020

The action plan for the implementation of the Concept of the state policy in the sphere of consumer rights protection for the period until 2020 has come into force. According to the Concept, the state policy in this area will be brought in line with European standards and requirements within two years.

The relevant government’s resolution on the action plan for the implementation of the Concept as of December 27, 2017, No.983-r, was officially published in the Uriadovyi Kurier government newspaper on January 11, 2018.

The Cabinet of Ministers in 2018 intends to appeal to the European Commission to officially assess the compliance of the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Rights Protection" with the relevant acts of the European Union. Following this, relevant amendments will be introduced to the Ukrainian legislation.
