First Vice Speaker Herashchenko believes release of Ukrainian political prisoners to be unblocked this year

First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Herashchenko hopes that the process of release of Ukrainian political prisoners from the prisons of the Russian Federation will be unblocked in 2018.
"I really believe that in 2018 we will be able to unblock the release of Ukrainian political prisoners from Russian prisons. At least, President Petro Poroshenko and the authorities make every effort to do this at all the possible international negotiations, meetings and platforms," Herashchenko wrote on Facebook.
As reported, on December 28, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko instructed to resume talks with Russia on the release of Ukrainian political prisoners from Russian prisons as well as of the hostages from the occupied territory.
