Now Russia is trying to conduct a hybrid war against the entire Europe, not just meddling in elections and spreading propaganda but also posing threat to the very existence of the European democratic institutions.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this during the VII National Expert Forum "Ukraine: Striving for Balance", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"I believe that Europe will not go along the path of compromise. They have already understood that the hybrid war unleashed by Russia is the global war against the democratic world, not just actions of local nature," Klimkin said.
In this context, he reminded about the referendums in Catalonia and the Netherlands. "Therefore, it is a question of the future of the transatlantic union, and Ukraine's role in the fate of this union is actually much more important than many people think," the minister said.
