Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has started a two-day official visit to Georgia, the media liaisons department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers has reported.

"The head of government will hold talks with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze, and take part in the economic forum 'One Belt, One Road,'" the statement reads.

Groysman will also visit the center for the rehabilitation of the military, where Ukrainian servicemen are undergoing treatment, and will open a monument to Lesya Ukrainka in Kakheti.

Ukraine and Georgia are maintaining the relations of strategic partnership. Trade between the two states in 2016 was $456 million, but this figure could be doubled, up to $1 billion. Ukraine welcomes the Georgian government's assistance in involving Ukrainian companies in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Georgia and is ready to deepen cooperation in the area of developing the transit potential of the two states, especially as part of the New Silk Road project.

A separate item on the agenda of cooperation between Kyiv and Tbilisi is the continued policy of maintaining sovereignty and territorial integrity at the bilateral level and within international organizations, as well as rapprochement with the EU and NATO.
