Rasmussen: EU should define clear prospects for Ukraine's European integration
Ex-NATO Secretary General, Adviser to the President of Ukraine Anders Fogh Rasmussen said this at the international debates "Ukraine: What next?" which took place in Brussels on Wednesday, an Ukrinform own correspondent reports.
"On the eve of the Eastern Partnership Summit [scheduled for November 24 in Brussels], some EU governments not only reject their commitments and promises but even do not recognize that such states as Ukraine have European aspirations," Rasmussen said.
He is convinced that the European Union must determine what messages will be sent to Ukraine regarding its European prospects.
The adviser to the President of Ukraine calls among such concrete steps the invitation for Ukraine to the EU Customs Union and provision of a comprehensive package of financial assistance to continue reforms and restore the infrastructure destroyed by Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.
