U.S. President Donald Trump has made a number of important statements at the opening of the general debate as part of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

In particular, the U.S. leader called on the UN to stop threats to the sovereignty of states and uphold respect for state borders, while mentioning the situation in Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian aggression.

In addition, Trump threatened to destroy North Korea and called on the international community to join the United States in "demanding that Iran's government end its pursuit of death and destruction."
