Poroshenko, Lipton discuss implementation of reforms in Ukraine

Poroshenko emphasized an extremely important role of the IMF in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, the press service of the Head of State reported.

The parties discussed the implementation of the education, healthcare and pension reforms. The Head of State noted the importance of creating an efficient system of fighting corruption in Ukraine.

The parties also negotiated the fulfillment of the Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies in the context of the provision of the regular tranche to Ukraine within the Extended Fund Facility.

David Lipton emphasized that Ukraine should take advantage of the positive improvement in the internal economy to complete the reforms and ensure sustainable growth. He also noted high dynamics of cooperation between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund.
