Economic Development Ministry sets up expert group to strengthen cooperation with NATO

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine has set up an interdepartmental expert group to prepare and implement the decisions of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Working Group on Economic Security. 

The group was established as part of the implementation of the annual national program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission for 2017, the Governmental portal reports.

"The interdepartmental expert group is an interim advisory body under the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine whose primary focus is on preparing proposals for priority tasks and activities aimed at developing the effective cooperation between Ukraine and NATO. The representatives of the Economic Development Ministry, the Defense Ministry and the State Concern Ukroboronprom form the membership of the interdepartmental expert group,” the statement reads.

The expert group will analyze the progress of NATO-Ukraine cooperation in economic and resource aspects, prepare coordinated proposals for promising areas of such cooperation and ways to improve the forms of interaction.
