Kyiv authorities have allocated more than UAH 2 billion for the preparation of educational institutions for a new academic year and the autumn-winter period.
Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko said this during a meeting of the Kyiv City State Administration Board regarding the readiness of educational institutions for a new academic year, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"If we talk about the preparation for the academic year and the winter period, this year we have allocated more than 2 billion hryvnias," Klitschko said.
According to him, this year the authorities plan to conduct thermal modernisation of 11 educational institutions, overhaul in 90 kindergartens, and complete the overhaul of gyms in 38 schools.
Klitschko stressed that this year the costs for the education sector were increased up to UAH 11 billion.
