Ukraine and Georgia are stepping up cooperation in the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this at a press conference following the negotiations with President of Georgia Georgi Margvelashvili in Tbilisi, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

President Poroshenko noted that during the talks, a broad agenda in bilateral relations was set, and cooperation in international organizations was coordinated "starting from the UN Security Council, the UN General Assembly."

"And we are showing a unique level of cooperation, the adoption of historical documents by the General Assembly and the UN Security Council," he said.

In addition, the presidents agreed to enhance economic partnership, coordinate tariffs for rail, ferry transport, and to deepen the free trade area.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, President Poroshenko is currently on a state visit to Georgia.
