Poroshenko, Philip open checkpoint on Ukrainian-Moldovan border

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko today pays a working visit to Odesa region, where he will open together with Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip a joint checkpoint on the Transdniestrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border.

Ukrinform learned this from the press service of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

"President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip will meet on Monday, July 17, at the Kuchurgan-Pervomaisk border crossing point, where joint patrols will be introduced on the Transdniestrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border," the report reads.

The opening of the checkpoint is a part of the agreements reached between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova during the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on the organization of joint control and interdepartmental protocol.
